Annual EPOA Board Meeting
The Emerald Pointe Owners Association meets each Spring to hear reports and updates from the Board and Committees. Elections for open Board seats are held during the Annual Meeting. A quorum (26 lot owners) must be present or voting via proxy for Board elections to take place. Annual Meeting packets are mailed to each owner 30 days prior to the Annual Meeting.
Assessments
The Homeowners Association Board determines annual assessments around November/December for the upcoming year. Assessments pay for all common-ground utilities and for improvements. Emerald Pointe has a residential lot assessment and a boat slip assessment for those residents whose residential lots convey with the shared boat slip docks. Assessments may be paid in two installments, with the first payment of one-half of the annual fees due January 31st, and the second payment due July 31st each year. Owners may pay for the full year Assessment in January each year if desired. Contact the EPOA Treasurer with any questions.
Monthly Board Meetings
Board meetings are generally scheduled to be held at the EPOA Clubhouse the third Thursday of each month at 10:00 AM in the Clubhouse (subject to change, check the Happenings link for day and time). All EPOA Residents are invited to attend. If you would like to attend an upcoming board meeting, please check under the Homeowner Login page for the actual date, time and location scheduled by the Board under the Announcements page. For non-EPOA Residents seeking to attend a Board meeting, please reach out to one of the Board of Directors for approval. The Book Club
The Book Club meets at 2 PM on the 1st Friday of each month during most of the year. Members take turns hosting the meeting in their homes. If you would like to be on the mailing list for the club, contact Karen Dreher or see our Announcements page under the Homeowner Login for further hosting information.
Girls' Nights
Every 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7 PM, the Ladies of Emerald Pointe gather for fun and great conversation at the community pool. This event is held throughout the year meeting at the Clubhouse poolside in warmer months and in a resident's home in the colder months. Contact Lydia Kendall for additional information.
Mens' Nights
New for 2021. This social gathering will meet monthly. Place and time to be announced on the Neighborhood Event page.
Ladies Lunches
TEMPORARILY CANCELED: Seeking a new host to continue the tradition. The Ladies Lunch is an outing to a different local restaurant each month and occurs on the 3rd Thursday of each month.
Summer Pool Parties
Pool Parties are held the last Sunday during the months that the Pool is open. Everyone brings their own drinks (alcohol is acceptable, 21 and older) and an appetizer or dessert to share. The Party starts at 6 PM. No RSVP necessary. However, per Pool rules, no glass containers are permitted in the pool area. Email reminders for this event are sent out to Emerald Pointe Residents.
4th of July Celebration
This annual family-friendly get together is held at the Emerald Pointe pool. Flyers with the details are distributed prior to the event via email. Hot dogs, hamburgers, and soft drinks are provided by EPOA. Residents attending are asked to bring an appetizer or dessert dish to share with all.
Octoberfest Pig Roast
Our annual Pig Roast is held in October each year. Flyers with the details are distributed via email and by physical copy prior to the event. The meat and soft drinks are provided by EPOA. Everyone attending is asked to bring an appetizer or dessert dish to share.
Holiday Drop-In Party
A Holiday Party is held in December each year. Flyers with the details are distributed prior to the event via email. The meat, soft drinks, beer, wine, and mixers are provided by EPOA. Residents attending are asked to bring an appetizer or dessert dish to pass around.
Adopt-A-Highway
Emerald Pointe is responsible for trash clean-up along Keowee School Road (Route 188) from the bridge down to Bountyland. Trash pick-up events are held 4 times each year. Email reminders are sent out prior to the pick-up days. Orange vests and trash bags are provided to all volunteers.
Community Yard Sale
Starting in 2018, the community held its first group yard sale. Neighbors successfully sold their items from their driveways or within the cul-de-sac. The yard sale is advertised widely resulting in a lot of shopping interest. Although not an annually scheduled event, community yard sales will likely occur in the future.
